Welcome to Wigapedia.

Introduction

Wigapedia is written collaboratively by members of the Wigan Archaeological Society. The intention is to create a repository for as much knowledge as possible about the history and archaeology of the Wigan Metropolitan District. Articles can be freely added or edited by any member of the society and it will remain visible only to the members of the society. Any member is welcome to add information, cross-references or citations, as long as they do so to an appropriate standard. For example, be sure to include all references to your information, as unreferenced information could be subject to challenge or removal. Also source material should be enclosed in quotation marks (ideally we would like to keep the same standards as the original Wikipedia ). This isn’t to say that we can’t include un-sourced or hearsay information, as long as it is marked clearly as such. Hopefully, over time, it will build into a great resource for researching the history and archaeology of the Wigan Metropolitan District.

To start adding information to Wigapedia, simply type a heading into the search box, click on 'create this page', and start typing in your knowledge.
